Radiography Testing

Radiography Testing is a commonly used NDT method of examination of mainly internal defects in welds. Unlike most other non-destructive control methods, there is a permanent documentation of the test results, in the form of an radiography film that can be evaluated over and over again.

At larger thicknesses, the source can be replaced with a radioactive isotope, but the thicker the material to be tested, the less detail and clarity, which has an effect on the possibilities for evaluating the results.

An radiography is a two-dimensional examination method, so the direction with which the rays are shot through the subject and the location of the film is of great importance for the result and error. Often it may be necessary to record radioagraphy film of a welding.
